During his 25 year law firm career, Alan was a litigation partner in an international law firm (20 years at Mendes & Mount in the Aviation Department in Los Angeles and 5 years in the start-up firm of Fitzpatrick & Hunt, Tucker, Collier, Pagano, Aubert) handling high risk litigation specializing in Aviation and Products Liability all over the world primarily for the London aviation insurance market. Along with defending aviation companies following accidents, he has spent his career counseling, training and auditing numerous organizations (in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia) in the areas of risk/litigation prevention and management as well as product integrity in order to effectively handle and avoid risk. As a consultant, Alan is available to provide unique and specialized counsel on the risks facing your organization as well as conduct a focused audit with recommendations to lessen your exposure to catastrophic risk.
Skilled Mediator when Risk Becomes Conflict
Alan received his foundational training in mediation and conflict resolution at the advent of the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law where he was the research and graduate assistant to the founder, Randy Lowry. He has been the lead lawyer in 100's of cases from complex, multi-party, multi-district mediations to small personal injury matters. He has maintained his skill in the area of mediation and conflict resolution through continuing legal education including Professional Skills Training at Pepperdine in the STAR approach to mediation. Alan is not only available for legal mediations, but also conducts internal mediations for organizations and churches (through the non-profit TURN - www.turnnetwork.org) in need of reconciliation and conflict resolution.
